If your education and experience align with this position, we hope you will consider submitting an application for a potential opportunity to support our students in achieving their academic goals.Job Summary Department-Specific Responsibilities Assists in providing student support services and implementing program initiatives for undergraduate and graduate students Manages graduate admissions and undergraduate teacher education application processes, serving as the primary departmental contact for prospective and current students, faculty, staff, and campus partners.
Reviews and evaluates application materials and determine admission and licensure eligibility in collaboration with faculty, admissions committees, and program staff, as appropriate. Advises students regarding admission requirements, program options, licensure pathways, registration, and university policies and procedures. Coordinates and facilitates admissions, recruitment, and information sessions; represents the School of Education at recruitment and outreach events.
Supports student onboarding and progression by connecting admitted students with advisors, faculty mentors, registration resources, learning platforms, and other university systems. Manages student cohort authorizations, course enrollments, and related academic processes. Coordinates teacher education and student teaching application processes, including placement and contract administration with school district partners and human resources (HR) liaisons.
Processes and recommends eligible students for educator licensure and provides guidance regarding state and institutional licensure requirements. Prepares and provides program completion, verification, licensure, and related student documentation upon request. Develops, maintains, and distributes advising materials, licensure resources, admissions information, and student communications. Maintains confidential student records, databases, and documentation related to admissions, enrollment, degree progress, licensure, and program completion.
Collects, analyzes, and reports data related to admissions, enrollment, completion, licensure, and employment outcomes to support departmental planning, accreditation, compliance, and state reporting requirements. Monitors trends in student enrollment, program participation, and licensure outcomes and assist with the preparation of departmental, university, accreditation, and state reports. Remains current on university policies, academic requirements, accreditation standards, and Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) licensure regulations to ensure accurate guidance and effective program administration.
General Responsibilities Oversees the processing and evaluation of all applications for admissions into that school and accompanying material, such as transcripts, to determine eligibility. Maintains records and databases of applications; updates and purges as necessary; gathers and collates information from records and prepares reports. Reviews applications for completeness, contacts applicants for any missing information or to resolve discrepancies, and obtains any necessary information from other sources.
Schedules and oversees any applicant interviews. Makes recommendations regarding admissions and financial aid decisions; contacts applicant regarding the decision on the admission application. Responds to phone and email inquiries on admissions process and status of applications; may assist in the design of recruiting events and materials. Counsels potential students regarding courses and grades required for admission.
May supervise temporary staff in the admissions office; monitors and evaluates job performance.
