We are seeking an engaging, motived and enthusiastic individual to join our Forensic Mental Health Service as an Adult Education Tutor. This role will be based across the Forensic Service at the Milton Keynes and Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. This role is part-time working 15 hours per week. We are very interested in tutors who are able to support learners to work towards their aspirations. The postholder will ensure a safe and organised risk assessed learning environment, adhering to all relation security guidelines.

They will create a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere that promotes skills development and confidence. It is important toengage learners by using a range of teaching and learning strategies, adapting teaching methods to suit a diverse range of learners. You will also be responsible in assessing learner progress, providing constructive feedback to support learning and development. The post holder will ensure ongoing accreditation with Ascentis, and will collaborate with the MDT to deliver a high-quality programme aligned with the learner's aspirations., To be responsible as a tutor and assessor for an identified workload and provide group and/or individual tutoring to service users.

To work efficiently and effectively to meet both individual and service targets and accreditation quality requirements. To work autonomously and as a member of the Thames Valley Forensic Mental Health Service. To develop, agree and review Individual Learning Plans with service users and provide regular support/monitoring of their progress to provide the best possible opportunities for award achievement within agreed time scales.

To maintain effective records of own assessment and training practice using the electronic systems in place where required. To contribute to quality assurance of awards and delivery programmes, the revision and implementation of changes to quality assurance standards as recommended by Awarding Body External Verifiers, as well as other management issues related to the service. To develop materials and lesson plans to be delivered to service users requiring underpinning training or for work-based and vocational, pre-employment qualifications and internal certificates.

Take responsibility for own continual professional development. To provide feedback on practice deficiencies or policy gaps. To ensure internal teaching/training rooms are fully equipped, stocked and fully functional in line with in-house procedures.
