About the role Do you enjoy making a difference to your local community? Are you curious and creative in your practice? Do you enjoy building lasting relationships? If the answer is yes, then this is an opportunity for you. The Adult and Autism team are looking for a Social Worker for 31 hours per week who will promote choice, control and independence, ensuring at all times that the service user is at the centre of this process.

The team are responsible for working with adults with Autism and those who may have eligible care and support needs for other reasons, often associated with a neurodiversity. Our aim is to work progressively with individuals, recognising and building on their talents and abilities, whilst also providing tailored support to eligible needs under the Care Act. ‘No two days are ever the same in the Adults and Autism Team, working with a wide range of individuals and situations.

The work can be challenging and demanding but is ultimately rewarding, working to support individuals to develop their life chances. The team is supportive and knowledgeable, with people working together in a flexible way for the best outcomes for those we work with.’ We provide a supportive team, with regular supervision and a concentration on further training and learning opportunities. The role is based at Amundsen House, St Ives, but covers the county of Cambridgeshire.

What will you be doing? You'll be working with individuals and their informal carers to complete Care Act assessments, care and support plans, reviews, and carers assessments, alongside having a role in Safeguarding and considering capacity.

Inquisitive and creative practice is embraced, to allow for personalised solutions, taking into account wider community resources and organisations. The work will also involve supporting young people, as they approach adulthood, plan for their transition. We have hybrid working in place, the team currently work 2 days in the office and 3 days from home or office, mixed with service user visits. During your probation period you may be expected in the office more regularly.
