Analytical Chemist Location: Woodbury, MN Pay Rate: $33/hour Assignment: 6-Month Contract with Potential to Extend or Convert to Full-Time Role Summary We are seeking an Analytical Chemist to perform laboratory testing of pharmaceutical products, drug-device combination products, raw materials, and finished products. This position will use a variety of analytical techniques and laboratory systems to support routine testing, stability studies, product development, and analytical projects within a GMP-regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities Perform analytical testing according to approved methods, specifications, and SOPs. Conduct wet chemistry and instrumental analysis using HPLC, GC, dissolution equipment, and other laboratory instrumentation . Test raw materials and finished pharmaceutical products. Use Empower or similar chromatography data systems to acquire and analyze results. Document testing and results using electronic laboratory notebooks and LIMS in accordance with GMP requirements.
Support stability studies, method development, and method validation activities. Assist with qualification, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment. Review analytical data, troubleshoot testing issues, and apply critical thinking to resolve problems. May prepare technical documents, including test methods, protocols, reports, work instructions, and specifications. Maintain a safe, organized, and compliant laboratory environment.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry or another science discipline. Minimum 1 year of analytical laboratory/testing experience or equivalent laboratory coursework. Basic understanding of GMP requirements. Hands-on experience with HPLC, GC, wet chemistry, or other analytical laboratory techniques preferred. Experience with Empower, LIMS, or electronic laboratory notebooks is a plus.
Strong documentation, data analysis, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing changing priorities.
