Job Details Grade: 8A Hourly Rate: £21.04- £22.83 Salary: £38,400.70 - £41,667.44 per annum Contract Duration: Permanent   Role Purpose This post will appeal to those who are looking for a career that requires self discipline, responsibility and a degree of innovation and thinking "out the box" to try and resolve the variety of issues that concern members of the public. You will have to be a "people person" with good communication skills and the ability to have empathy or be firm, when the situation arises.

Your caseload will involve investigation work, good record keeping and an ability to communicate effectively with people from all walks of life, with a variety of issues that they may present. You will work as part of a small independent team, mainly unsupervised, however you must be able to communicate effectively with a variety of different ages. You may also on occasions, be required to prepare cases to be heard at the court and act as a professional witness.

Essential Educated to degree level or equivalent and be able to provide demonstrable equivalent experience in this type of work. A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability.
