APS6 Support Needs Assessor x 50 vacancies Location: Geelong VIC or Wendouree VIC Pay Rate: $61.86/hr + superannuation Employment Type: Full-Time hours Work Model: Hybrid (Minimum 2 days in office per week) About the Role Make a meaningful impact in the disability sector as an APS6 Support Needs Assessor. In this role, you will lead high-quality, accessible, and respectful assessment processes. Using trauma-informed and culturally aware approaches, you will help participants feel heard while converting complex evidence into clear, consistent support assessments.
Key Responsibilities Conduct support needs assessments through guided conversations with participants, families, and support networks. Analyse and synthesise participant information and external evidence to make clear, evidence-based recommendations. Prepare accurate, high-quality assessment reports that align with NDIS operational guidelines and legislation. Apply sound judgment, risk management, and ethical standards while delivering person-centred, strengths-based outcomes.
Collaborate across teams and mentor colleagues to foster a learning culture and drive continuous improvement. Qualifications & Experience Required Experience & Qualifications: Experience administering support needs assessments or relevant person-centred assessment frameworks. Demonstrated commitment to person-centred, strengths-based, and trauma-informed practices. Recognized tertiary qualification in an Allied Health discipline (e.g., Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Social Work, Physiotherapy, Counselling, Exercise Physiology) OR a relevant Health/Education qualification (RN, EN, Education degree, or NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner).
Highly Regarded: Accreditation or practical experience using the I-CAN Support Needs Assessment Tool (desirable, not essential). Working Environment This position operates on a hybrid model, combining remote work with a collaborative, hot-desking office environment (minimum 2 days per week in office). You will engage in both regular in-person interactions and virtual assessments using digital tools and case management systems.
