Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast, with offices located throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee.GMC has an opening for an Architecture Project Manager to support on-going projects in our Mobile, AL office. The Project Manager will be involved in all stages of design and construction and will assist Architects in producing documents and managing projects.
Applicants should be well organized and able to work within established systems, demonstrate ability to solve problems, be a good communicator that’s willing and able to network with outside consultants and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs) to drive the project. Occasional travel may be required to do as-built surveys on existing buildings and other responsibilities. Applicants must be physically capable of performing building investigations.
Applicants must possess advanced knowledge of AutoCAD and be able to assemble construction documents for multiple projects at a time.RESPONSIBILITIES:Advanced knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD is requiredProficiency in Adobe Products/BluebeamManages production of drawings along with consultants assigned to the jobProficient in detailing of building assemblies and production of construction drawingsAbility to think in a 3D environmentMust be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in Autodesk Revit is a plus but not requiredProficiency in MS Outlook, Word and Excel requiredEffectively meet and accommodate deadlines on multiple projectsDocument as-built conditions in existing structures.Work in a team environmentAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingExperience with code studies including navigating ADA and the IBC QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in Architecture or equivalent from an accredited college preferred but not requiredMinimum of 5+years of technical and construction document production experience – retail experience preferredExtensive understanding of building codes, construction methods, building systems, and engineering systemsWorking knowledge and practice skills of architectural product systemsWorking knowledge of A&E work standards, processes, and policiesDemonstrated ability to work under pressure, to manage deadlines and prioritize assignmentsUnderstanding of the tasks associated with the preparation of construction documentsEqual Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veterans About GMC We are a regional firm with national experience located in 28 offices throughout the Southeastern United States.
