Job Title: Plant Engineering Support – Day Shift Location: Denison, IA Salary Bracket: $115K – 140K with incentives Summary of the Plant Engineering Assistant Role: As part of the Plant Engineering team, you will oversee maintenance and engineering functions in the facility, ensuring optimal condition of equipment and infrastructure to enhance operational efficiency. Responsibilities of the Plant Engineering Assistant: Manage capital projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to safety regulations.
Coordinate with Plant Engineer for project planning and execution while upholding safety and environmental standards. Lead Maintenance Department in deploying innovative systems like TPM and Preventive Maintenance to improve manufacturing efficiency. Optimize resource allocation for increased productivity and reduced downtime. Supervise maintenance team, assign tasks, and enforce operational guidelines.
Promote a culture of safety through training and implementation of safety protocols. Develop maintenance performance metrics for monitoring and reporting. Mentor and coach employees to maintain a positive work environment. Requirements for the Plant Engineering Assistant: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience in manufacturing. Minimum 2 years of leadership experience in team management.
Proficiency in PLC and ammonia refrigeration systems. Prior experience in food manufacturing, meat processing a bonus. Expertise in Microsoft Office and CMMS software. Strong technical skills in mechanical and electrical areas. Ability to manage resources effectively in a large-scale manufacturing setting. In-depth knowledge of maintenance systems like TPM and Preventive Maintenance. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Good interpersonal and presentation skills. Willingness to work extended hours, including weekends.
