Join us as an “Assistant VP - Equity Client Strategy” Client Strategy is a dedicated team within Distribution, the sales organisation within Markets. Each product cluster has its own Client Strategy effort but they each partner closely to deliver a robust and coordinated holistic client strategy across asset classes, ensuring that we make the best use of our resources to deliver value for clients and maximise returns.
To be a successful “Assistant VP - Equity Client Strategy” candidate is expected to work in a high intensity, result oriented team environment as part of the Equity Client Strategy Team in Mumbai, which is a virtual extension of Global Business Management Team. The candidate will closely work with Business Managers on multiple key projects to improve returns, track business performance and implement business controls.
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success role Candidate will be involved in various activities like performance packs, adhoc MIs, streamlining business processes, managing cost and supporting the delivery of technology for quick implementation of all investment strategies. The role entails working on Business Reviews, Strategy One Pagers, Performance packs, adhoc requests from senior management.
Candidate often works as crucial link between senior management and various departments like Sales & Trading, IT, HR, Product Control, Risk Control, Operations, Legal and Compliance. As such this role is key to the smooth and efficient running of the business. Basic/ Essential Qualifications: Support the delivery of the Equity Client Strategy agenda, partnering with Sales, Trading, Product and senior stakeholders.
Lead business planning, performance monitoring and strategic analysis, including KPIs, trends and management presentations. Produce actionable MI covering P&L, client revenue, volumes, margins, market share, profitability, capital and balance sheet. Design and maintain interactive performance dashboards, while driving the automation and simplification of existing reports and analytical processes using Power BI, Python, Excel and AI-enabled tools.
Prepare business commentary, client insights and materials for senior management and governance forums. Deliver ad hoc analysis to identify performance drivers, client opportunities and emerging business trends. Provide end-to-end support for client strategy, business development and key strategic projects. Contribute to strategic, data and process-improvement projects initiated by Client Strategy and Business Management, ensuring effective execution from requirements gathering through to implementation.
Partner with Risk, Control, Legal, Compliance and other functions to maintain strong governance and data controls. Maintain appropriate data quality, governance and controls across reporting, dashboards and analytical outputs. Desirable skillsets/ good to have: Relevant experience in Client Strategy, Business Management, COO or Business Intelligence within Financial Services. Good understanding of Investment Banking and Global Markets products, preferably secondary trading.
Strong proficiency in Python, Power BI and advanced Excel, including Power Query and data modelling. Experience using AI and automation tools to improve reporting, analysis and business insights. Proven experience in report automation, management information (MI) production, and delivering data-driven business insights Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear commercial insights.
Excellent stakeholder management and written and verbal communication skills. Proactive, detail-oriented and able to independently manage multiple priorities and deliverables.
