With a strong focus on diversity and excellent service, OEM works with campus partners to make IU Bloomington the best university possible.Job Summary Department Specific ResponsibilitiesContributes to the leadership, directs and evaluates the transfer student programs offered through the Office of Admissions.Provides operational management and oversight to a team of student programming staff.Analyzes, monitors, and evaluates performance of assigned staff, including professional and student staff; establishes work priorities, conducts performance reviews, and provides corrective action as needed.Provides leadership, direction, budget oversight, and project management of programs specifically serving transfer students, including early transition programming and continued programs focused on supporting and retaining students.
Coordinates the Hoosier Link program, providing leadership for this collaborative transition program for the Bloomington campus and the Ivy Tech campuses. Develops and integrates the goals, operational policies and procedures with other university stakeholders. Coordinates programming on the IU campus to prepare students for the transition from Ivy Tech to IU Bloomington.Plans, executes, participates in targeted undergraduate student recruitment initiatives, including the freshmen and IU transfer pathways, through campus presentations, events, and prospective student meetings.
Some of these initiatives will include travel off campus and around the state. Engages in recruitment efforts, including outreach, file review, yield strategies, and pathway clarity, while providing feedback on transfer student trends.Tracks participation and engagement trends to summarize aggregate academic metrics for program assessment and high-level outcomes.Evaluates and ensures quality and effectiveness of all programming and services falling under the individual's oversight; makes hiring decisions and determines and evaluates budgets.General ResponsibilitiesProvides day-to-day operational management of student programming staff.Establishes short-term operational objectives.Identifies operational issues and/or areas of improvement and implements solutions to improve processes and/or operational efficiency.Analyzes, monitors, and evaluates performance of assigned staff; establishes work priorities, conducts performance reviews, and provides corrective action as needed.Ensures adequate staffing and effective scheduling; participates and informs employment decisions for assigned staff.Provides direct supervision and oversight of assigned staff and activities; impacts, and is held accountable for, the performance of team and/or assigned staff.Ensures and provides training to assigned staff to improve student programming operations; researches and identifies development opportunities for assigned staff.Researches and stays up to date on new industry student programming standards, best practices, and emerging technology; keeps next-level leader(s) informed of trends as well as significant problems.Qualifications EDUCATIONRequiredBachelor's degree in student programs, social work, or related field.PreferredMaster's degree in higher education student affairs or related field.WORK EXPERIENCERequired2 years in student programs, higher education student affairs, or related field.Preferred4 years in student programs, higher education student affairs, or related field.SKILLSRequiredProficient written and verbal communication skills.Maintains a high degree of professionalism.Demonstrates time management and priority setting skills.Demonstrat
