Audit Senior (Hybrid)Glasgow 42,000 – 46,000 THE ROLEAn established and growing accountancy practice is looking for an Audit Senior to join its Glasgow-based External Audit team. The role offers exposure to a varied client portfolio across corporate, charity, education, housing associations, SMEs and owner-managed businesses. The successful candidate will lead audits from planning through to completion, build strong client relationships and support the development of junior team members.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Audit Senior looking to develop their technical expertise and progress within a supportive, growth-focused practice. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Lead audit assignments from planning through to completionUndertake complex and technical audit work as the senior fieldwork team memberSupervise, review and mentor junior team members and traineesPrepare statutory accounts from trial balance, including audit adjustments and disclosuresDraft management letters and provide recommendations on controls and governanceAct as a key client contact and attend client, Audit Committee and Board meetings where requiredEnsure audit work meets relevant standards, regulations and internal methodologiesSupport Managers and Partners with proposals and business developmentContribute to the onboarding and development of graduate traineesUndertake occasional UK travel, including overnight stays where required WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORCA or ACCA qualified with relevant post-qualification experienceTypically 4-6 years’ audit experience, ideally including experience within an SME or mid-tier practiceExperience of supervising and reviewing junior staffStrong knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards, including ISAs and relevant FRSsExperience working across medium to large audit engagementsStrong communication and client relationship skillsWell organised with the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlinesProactive, professional and quality-focused approach DESIRABLECharity audit and accounts preparation experienceFurther education or wider public sector audit experience WHAT’S ON OFFERCompetitive salary and clear progression opportunitiesHybrid working with approximately 40% remote workingStructured coaching, mentoring and professional developmentPaid professional membership fees32 days’ annual leave, increasing with service and progressionPension schemeTOIL for additional hours worked, subject to approvalAnnual leave purchase schemeEmployee Assistance Programme and employee discountsReferral rewards and annual recognition awardsRegular social and CSR eventsOpportunity to progress into management, specialist advisory roles and potentially partnership CAREER DEVELOPMENTThe firm places a strong focus on technical development, leadership and internal progression.
