Key Responsibilities: Conduct preventative and breakdown maintenance on mining vehicles and mobile equipment Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic faults Inspect, test and maintain electrical systems and components Repair and maintain wiring, electrical harnesses, sensors, switches, relays and control systems Maintain and repair starter motors, alternators and charging systems Conduct battery testing and maintenance Perform electrical fault-finding using appropriate diagnostic and testing equipment Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams and technical manuals Install, repair and maintain lighting and other electrical systems Conduct inspections and pre-start checks on equipment Identify potential electrical faults and recommend corrective action Ensure all repairs and maintenance are completed according to manufacturer specifications Complete maintenance reports, job cards and other relevant documentation Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe and orderly condition Work closely with mechanics, artisans, operators and other maintenance personnel Respond to equipment breakdowns and attend to urgent repairs when required Ensure compliance with all company, mining, health and safety policies and procedures Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 / Matric Relevant Auto Electrical Trade Test Minimum 3 years' relevant post-trade experience Experience within the mining industry will be advantageous Experience working on heavy-duty vehicles, mobile equipment or earthmoving machinery Knowledge of electrical and electronic systems used on mining equipment Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills Willingness to work shifts, overtime and standby when required
