Band 5 Community Dietitian

We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 5 Dietitian to join our busy Community Nutrition & Dietetics Service in Barnsley, for 1 year from November 2026 (fixed term contract) on a part time basis (17.5hours/week). The post is varied and interesting, covering a range of community dietetics including community clinics, care homes and people who are housebound. The caseload includes nutrition support & general dietetics.

Our team is friendly and welcoming, supporting each other to provide the best nutritional care for the people of Barnsley., As a Band 5 Community Dietitian you will: Manage a caseload requiring dietetic intervention in the community this may include a range of settings such as care homes, clinics and patients own homes. Be able to provide dietetic assessment and intervention for a range of conditions including nutrition support and general dietetics Work as a part of our team of dietitians and dietetic assistants.

Have a patient centred approach in line with our Trust values Work flexibly to meet the needs of the service Possess excellent communication/interpersonal skills to negotiate and build rapport with patients, carers and families. 4. Organise, produce, deliver and evaluate training on nutrition and dietetics related issues other health service staff and patients and carers 5. To communicate effectively with patients carers, members of the multidisciplinary team and other agencies to achieve patient centred goals 6.
