Band 6 Dietitian

We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 6 Dietitian to join our busy Community Nutrition & Dietetics Service in Barnsley, full time on a permanent basis. The post is varied and interesting, covering a range of community dietetics including community clinics, care homes and people who are housebound. The caseload predominantly includes nutrition support (including providing specialist dietetic intervention to patients on our Stroke Recovery Unit at Kendray Hospital), alongside some general dietetic clinics, with the opportunity to gain some experience in enteral feeding and paediatrics.

Our team is friendly and welcoming, supporting each other to provide the best nutritional care for the people of Barnsley., As a Band 6 Community Dietitian you will: Manage a caseload requiring complex dietetic intervention in different settings including the Stroke Recovery Unit, care homes, clinics and patients own homes. Be able to provide dietetic assessment and intervention for a range of conditions including nutrition support and general dietetics Work as a part of our team of dietitians and dietetic assistants.

To provide specialist advice to the Trust and support staff in the delivery of the Food & Nutrition Policies., To establish a clinical caseload within an agreed service area that is responsive to patient needs and Trust expectations. To provide specialist nutrition assessment and care plans for service users . To support the implementation of the Trust Food and Nutrition Policies. To contribute in the update and implementation of service standards, policies and procedures.

To participate in the monitoring of service performance through regular audit. To supervise and support junior colleagues. To participate in training of dietetic students and health care professionals in specified areas of nutrition and dietetics. To be actively involved in continuing professional development.
