An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit a Band 7 Clinical Specialist Nurse within our Durham and Darlington Children's and Young People Eating Disorder Team. Within this role you will be required to offer clinical leadership support to team members and the team manager, participate in service development, and hold a caseload and offer assessment and treatment for eating disorders. Working alongside the current leadership team in developing future clinical work and oversight of our Eating Disorder Service.

We work across two bases: The Acley Centre in Newton Aycliffe and North End House in Durham. We currently operate as a 7 day service so there may be some weekend working.Main duties of the job We are looking for someone with high motivation and a keen interest in continuing the improvement of our young people's care and treatment. This role involves the clinical leadership of the team, offering supervision and guidance and supporting the development of our multi-disciplinary team alongside Leadership Colleagues.

The service is currently going through transformation and as such this is an exciting time to join the Trust and be a part of the modelling of this. Within Durham and Darlington Children's and Young Peoples Services we are proactive in developing and piloting new ways of working taking in consideration the voices of our Service Users and their Families to develop better ways of working. Care Coordination of Children and Young Peoples needs Clinical Leadership support within the team Recognising safeguarding concerns and effectively communicating with alternative agencies to escalate this appropriately.

Attendance at Safeguarding meetings, and core group meetings. Monitoring and reviewing risk management, participating in the formulation of safety planning. Offering clinical supervision, and caseload management. Current Professional Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council - RMN / RNLD/ RGN (RNSC - CAMHS Only. Recognised Practice Assessor/Practice Supervisor or currently in progress of achieving.

Trained in Clinical Supervision and providing Clinical Supervision or in the process of achieving And - Professional clinical knowledge and experience acquired through degree (or equivalent post registration study), supplemented by specialist training, experience, short courses, Module (20 credit) at level 7 - For example Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma/Masters Degree, Intermediate Systemic Family Therapy/Postgraduate diploma in CBT/British Isles Dialectical Behaviour Therapy /NMP (Independent Prescriber), Psychosocial Interventions And - Equivalent significant clinical experience such as working (minimum of 2 years) as a band 6 (or above) in relevant clinical area, together with evidence of relevant CPD to Level 7 or equivalent, Significant experience working with patients with complex needs in the specialist field Significant experience working with patients who display risk behaviours Clinical risk assessment and management and its application in practice Working collaboratively with service users their families and carers Working in a multi-disciplinary team Quality improvement activities, Ability to travel independently in accordance with Trust policies and service need.
