Behaviour Support Worker | Hackney Central, Greater London | £95 - £110 per day | Full time

We are currently recruiting a Behaviour Support Assistant on behalf of a well-regarded mainstream secondary school in Hackney. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people to overcome behavioural, social, and emotional barriers to learning. About the Role: As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you'll work closely with students who require additional support to manage their behaviour and stay engaged in their education.

You'll be based within a supportive pastoral/inclusion team, helping to create a calm and positive learning environment both in and out of the classroom. Please note: as this role is based in a mainstream secondary school, some cover supervision duties will also be required from time to time, so candidates should be comfortable managing whole classes when needed. Key Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small-group behaviour support to identified students De-escalate conflict and support students with emotional regulation Work closely with SENCOs, pastoral staff, and teachers to implement behaviour plans Supervise students during break times, isolation/reflection rooms, or exclusion rooms as required Step in to cover classes when needed, ensuring lessons run smoothly in the teacher's absence Build positive, trusting relationships with students to support long-term behavioural improvement Maintain accurate records of incidents and interventions What We're Looking For: Previous experience working with young people in a school, youth work, or similar setting (essential) Confidence managing challenging behaviour in a secondary school environment Resilience, patience, and a calm, consistent approach Willingness to undertake some cover supervision duties Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one) Team Teach / de-escalation training desirable but not essential Why Apply?
