Zone: Central Zone Location: CNF - Central NL Regional Health Centre, Grand Falls-Windsor Biomedical Engineering Technologist I Central Zone - CNF Biomedical ENG Temporary Full-time (Approximately 7 months) NAPE HS 41638RP1 Hours : 75 (8 hours, Shift Work; Days, Evenings, On-Call, Weekends) Salary : CG31 (CAD29.44 - CAD32.71 per hour) Competition Number : VAC0028657 Posted Date : 2026-09-11 Closing Date : 2026-09-18 Definition of Work: The Biomedical Engineering Technologist I is responsible to ensure that all patient care and medical equipment is operating to institutional, national and manufacturer specifications.

This involves problem resolution; preventive maintenance; calibration and repair of all medical devices and equipment; training and development as well as maintaining all documentation as it relates to repairs. The successful candidate may be required to specialize in repairing equipment for a specific use: for example, x-ray, laser or patient monitoring machines and other related duties as required.

Travel throughout the region may be required. This position will also provide services to the new long-term care facility. The successful candidate must demonstrate an awareness of and be responsible for promoting and supporting person-and family-centered care, demonstrate a commitment to safety and partner with all team members to improve worker and patient safety by integrating safety into work practices, identifying risks and implementing improvements.

Potential for exposure to blood, bodily fluids and/or other contagion.

• Maintaining a clean-shaven face can be mandated to ensure proper seal of personal protective equipment. Required Qualifications: • Completion of a three-year diploma in Electronics Biomedical Engineering Technology approved by NLHS. • One-year recent experience in the Biomedical field. • Demonstrated effective administrative and organizational skills. • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.

• Demonstrated ability to: • Communicate clearly and effectively with others for the purpose of data exchange, clarification and follow up. • Capture work procedures provided by others accurately and prepare accurate job plans. • Create accurate maintenance schedules based on contract requirements. • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite of applications and ability to quickly learn new software applications and information systems.
