Based at our modern boathouse on the Thames at Putney, Dulwich College Boat Club (DCBC) is home to a thriving rowing programme, with pupils rowing from Year 9 through to senior school. Our ambition is to continue growing participation while establishing DCBC as an increasingly competitive force on the national stage. The Boathouse Manager will work closely with the Head of Rowing to ensure the safe, efficient and effective operation of the boathouse and rowing programme.
Responsibilities will include the maintenance and management of the College's fleet, oars, launches, trailers, ergometers and safety equipment, as well as supporting training sessions, regattas, training camps and equipment transport. This is a varied, practical role requiring excellent organisational skills, a proactive approach and a strong commitment to safety. The role would suit someone with rowing experience and/or a strong practical background who enjoys working as part of a busy and ambitious sports programme.
Experience of rowing, sports equipment or fleet/facility management. Strong practical and organisational skills. Good knowledge of rowing boats and equipment. Commitment to high standards of safety and maintenance. Ability to work flexibly, including early mornings, weekends and training camps. Ability to work effectively with coaches, pupils, staff and external contractors. Commitment to the British Rowing Water Safety Code and Rules of Racing.
DESIRABLE Previous experience within a school, university or club rowing programme. Launch driving and/or towing experience. Experience maintaining rowing boats, oars and launches. Experience supporting regattas and training camps.
