This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys being hands-on with the numbers and taking ownership of the day-to-day financial administration of a business. You’ll be involved across a range of bookkeeping and accounts duties, from processing transactions and reconciling accounts through to supporting with VAT, payroll information and year-end preparation. The role would suit someone organised, detail-focused and comfortable working independently.
Bookkeeper Responsibilities Managing day-to-day bookkeeping and maintaining accurate financial records Processing sales and purchase invoices, receipts and payments Completing regular bank and balance sheet reconciliations Monitoring outstanding customer balances and following up on payments Assisting with preparation of budgets, reports and financial information Maintaining accurate records across internal finance systems Preparing payroll information including PAYE, NI, pensions and expenses Supporting with VAT returns and providing information to external accountants Managing online banking and carrying out day-to-day banking duties Assisting with month-end and year-end account preparation Providing accurate financial information to management when required Ensuring all financial records are maintained accurately and confidentially Supporting the wider finance function with general accounting duties Bookkeeper Experience Required Previous experience within a bookkeeping or accounts position Good understanding of general bookkeeping processes Experience with bank reconciliations, invoicing and payment processing Knowledge of VAT and basic payroll processes Confident using accounting systems and Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail and excellent organisation skills Able to manage your own workload and work to deadlines Comfortable working independently as well as part of a wider team Good communication skills and a professional approach Previous experience working across a varied finance role would be advantageous If you’re an experienced Bookkeeper looking for a permanent opportunity in Chester, with a varied role where you can take ownership of the day-to-day accounts, please apply today for immediate consideration or email [email protected] We are committed to diversity and inclusion.
