The Role: The Building Services Engineer is responsible for delivering a first class multi skilled building services team dealing with issues relating from a simple electrical job to general handman/skilled tasks within office and warehouse environment to ensure function of equipment. Working with Engineers carrying out PPMs on machinery and equipment on site, while developing skills through performing maintenance and repair tasks Responsibilities: To spend each day carrying out a variety of planned and reactive work on a large-scale retail warehouse site.
Installs, maintains, and commissions mechanical (heating, ventilation, air conditioning) and electrical (power, lighting) systems in buildings to ensure they are safe and compliant Trouble shooting on Projects and Jobs Leading the practical application of technical works Support with Contractor works and oversee contractor compliance Supervise the installation and maintenance of building systems like HVAC, lighting, power, and plumbing.
Carrying out reactive and planned works related to electrical, mechanical and multi trade Supervising the technicians and providing support in their daily tasks Working with skilled professionals within department Administration of any software systems used by the group. Dealing with warehouse associates, contractors, suppliers and various internal departments where works cross over Support in small scale project work and when required.
Testing and diagnosing equipment and devices Supporting the wider group facilities team. Assisting where operationally required with any task as per the needs of the business. Qualifications Experience of working in a warehouse/large scale site environment dealing with all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance that affect the daily, weekly, monthly and longer term running of the site. PASMA, IPAF, ladder safety, or working at height training.
NVQ 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification within MEP 5 + years working experience within MEP or multi trade Up to date 18th Edition Understanding and experience working with hand and power tools Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced warehouse environment Adaptable and receptive to new ideas from any source. Willing and able to adjust to changing demands and circumstances.
Skilled and intuitive in identifying solutions to problems. Uses the expertise, skills and experience of others as appropriate. Independent, self-reliant, enthusiastic, and determined. The job holder will need to demonstrate tenacity and the capacity for sustained effort and hard work over extended periods.
