Seneca County Opportunity Center Hourly/Full-Time/Non-Exempt/Classified (4 hour day, typically 2 hour shifts, M-F, school year) JOB DUTIES INCLUDE*: Safely operate within the limits and requirements of the law, school buses and or other transportation vehicles, to transport and supervise authorized passengers to and from board approved bus stops, routes, and field trips. Move individuals to improve their comfort, development, habilitation, and safety.
Utilize appropriate behavior management practices. Advise transportation coordinator of all problems with vehicle operation, unsafe drivers and individuals’ behavior and complete appropriate forms. Participate in all required training programs/ exercises required by the state and the board. Maintain a reasonably clean interior and exterior of assigned vehicle. Inspect vehicle before and after every scheduled and extra-curricular trip and complete appropriate forms.
Perform other duties as needed. MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma or equivalent. 21 years of age with minimum 2 years of driving experience. Experience or training on how to safely move or secure individuals or objects on transportation vehicles. A driving record that does not contain: More than four points; A DUI or controlled substance conviction within the past 10 years; Two or more serious traffic violations; or Any railroad crossing violation during the past year.
Successful completion of physical ability test, driver physical, drug screening and background check. Current State of Ohio Commercial Driver’s License with S& P and air brake endorsements (school bus) First Aide and CPR Certificate All employees who hold a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and any other employees who are required to have a CDL must grant the SCBDD consent to run a query of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse as required by 49 CFR § 382.701.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting hourly wage is $21.00 or higher based on experience. Comprehensive benefit package includes medical, dental, vision and life insurance.
