Systems Control, a Hubbell company, is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager (BDM) to accelerate growth across the utility substation and critical infrastructure markets in North America. As an industry leader in Integrated Substation Solutions, Systems Control designs and manufactures the infrastructure that enables grid modernization, renewable energy integration, electrification, data center expansion, and reliable utility transmission and distribution.

The Business Development Manager will focus on identifying new market opportunities, building executive-level customer relationships, influencing project specifications, and developing strategic partnerships with utilities, EPC firms, consultants, developers, and large end users. This role serves as the bridge between market intelligence, customer strategy, and commercial execution, helping position Systems Control as the preferred partner for complex capital projects in grid modernization, data centers, renewable energy, electrification, and utility transmission and distribution.

A Day In The Life Market Development & Growth Identify, develop, and qualify new business opportunities across priority growth segments including grid modernization, data centers, renewable energy, electrification, utility transmission and distribution, and strategic EPC partnerships.

Develop and execute market growth strategies aligned with Systems Control's business objectives. Monitor industry trends, capital spending plans, regulatory developments, and emerging technologies that influence substation investment. Analyze market conditions and competitive activity to identify opportunities for growth and market share expansion. Customer & Industry Engagement Establish and strengthen relationships with utility executives, engineering leaders, EPC firms, consultants, developers, and key industry stakeholders.

Promote Systems Control's Integrated Substation Solutions to prospective customers and strategic partners. Influence project specifications and early-stage planning activities to improve win rates and project positioning. Upstream the voice of the customer to the executive team aid in developing the overall customer growth strategies and pursuit plans. Strategic Opportunity Management Track major capital projects from concept through award using Salesforce and other business intelligence tools.

Coordinate customer engagement strategies for large utility transmission and distribution, renewable energy, data center, electrification, and grid modernization projects. Collaborate with engineering, estimating, operations, and leadership teams to align customer needs with company capabilities. Assist in developing long-term sales forecasts, market assessments, and business planning initiatives.

Industry Leadership Represent Systems Control at industry conferences, trade shows, customer events, and utility associations. Build relationships with industry organizations including EEI, IEEE, NRECA, APPA, DistribuTECH, and regional utility associations. Deliver presentations and thought leadership on industry trends, grid modernization, substation solutions, and energy infrastructure development.

Provide market intelligence and customer insights to senior leadership. Key Performance Measures New opportunity identification and pipeline growth. Market share growth within assigned regions and market segments. Utility, EPC, and consultant engagement effectiveness. Strategic account penetration and expansion. Revenue and booking growth from new customer development activities. Forecast accuracy and pipeline management.
