DescriptionOverviewCadrex is seeking CNC Machinists at Levels I, II, and III to support precision manufacturing operations through the setup, operation, programming, maintenance, and optimization of CNC machinery. CNC Machinists play a critical role in producing high-quality components that meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and production requirements. The level of responsibility, technical expertise, and independence increases with experience and demonstrated proficiency.Key Responsibilities (All Levels)Operate CNC machines to manufacture components and assemblies according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirementsRead and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and technical documentsPerform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection equipmentMonitor machine performance and machining processes to ensure quality and productivity standards are achievedPerform tool changes, offsets, and machine adjustments as requiredMaintain accurate production documentation including part counts, machine logs, and quality recordsSupport continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, and productivityCommunicate effectively with supervisors, engineers, programmers, and production team membersSupport continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, and productivityProduce high-quality products according to required specifications while meeting production goalsKey Responsibilities (Level I)Set up CNC machines by loading tools, fixtures, and materials for production jobsLearn and apply CNC machining principles under the guidance of experienced machinistsPerform routine machine operation and basic machine adjustmentsConduct basic quality inspections and report nonconforming conditionsAssist with machine cleaning, lubrication, and preventative maintenance activitiesReport machine malfunctions, tooling concerns, or quality issues to supervisionDevelop CNC machining knowledge and skills through on-the-job trainingKey Responsibilities (Level II)Perform machine setups and changeovers with minimal supervisionMake tooling adjustments, offsets, and program modifications based on production requirementsTroubleshoot machine performance issues and quality concernsPerform routine and preventative maintenance activities on CNC equipmentAnalyze machining processes and recommend improvements to increase efficiency and qualityCollaborate with programming and engineering teams to resolve manufacturing issuesSupport training and mentoring of less experienced machinists as neededKey Responsibilities (Level III)Develop, modify, troubleshoot, and optimize CNC programs using G-code and CAM softwarePerform advanced machine setups and support complex machining operationsLead troubleshooting efforts related to machining processes, tooling, programming, and equipment performanceOptimize cycle times, tooling strategies, and machining methods to improve operational efficiencyManage tool life monitoring programs and advanced tooling applicationsPartner with engineering, programming, and production teams to implement process improvementsServe as a technical resource and mentor for Level I and Level II machinistsDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, productivity, and machine utilizationRequirementsPreferred Qualifications (Level I)High school diploma or equivalentTechnical training or machining certification preferredBasic understanding of manufacturing processes and machine operationAbility to use measuring instruments and inspection equipmentAbility to read and interpret blueprints and work instructionsBasic computer skillsStrong attention to detail and qualityAbility to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentDemonstrated initiative, dependability, and positive attendance recordPreferred Qualifications (Level II)2+ years of CNC machining experienceAbility to perform machine setups
