🌟 Position Overview We are seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Cardiothoracic Surgeon for a locum tenens opportunity in Pennsylvania . This role focuses on weekend 24-hour call coverage , managing urgent cardiac surgical cases in a high-acuity hospital setting with strong team support. 🔍 Key Responsibilities Provide cardiothoracic surgical coverage during on-call shifts ❤️‍🔥 Perform urgent and emergent cardiac surgeries (cath lab → OR) 🔪 Manage pre- and post-operative patient care , including ICU cases 🏥 Oversee patient progression from ICU to discharge Collaborate with PAs, hospital staff, and multidisciplinary teams 👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️ Ensure accurate documentation using EPIC EMR 💻 🗓️ Schedule Highlights Start Date: May 10, 2026 📅 Ongoing assignment 3 weekends per month 🗓️ Shift: Friday 12 PM – Monday 7 AM 24-hour call coverage throughout the weekend ⏰ 🎓 Qualifications MD/DO degree Board Certified/Eligible in Cardiothoracic Surgery Active Pennsylvania medical license (or willingness to obtain) Minimum 1 year of experience required DEA certification required ⭐ Preferred Experience Strong background in cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures Comfortable managing urgent/emergent surgical cases independently Experience with ICU-level patient management Familiarity with EPIC EMR system 💼 Assignment Details Locum Tenens opportunity with consistent weekend coverage 🔄 All hours are billable 💰 Work alongside supportive surgical teams and APPs Exposure to high-acuity cardiac surgical cases 🚀 Why Consider This Opportunity?
