We are recruiting to fill the position below: Job Title: Cash for Asset Field Assistant Location: Jakusko, Yobe Job type: Full-time Reports to: Business Development Officer Supervises: Project Support Staff/Facilitators Job Summary The Cash for Asset (CfA) Field Assistant supports the day-to-day community mobilization, field verification, labor management, and operational execution of Cash-for-Work/Cash-for-Assets activities under the WFP-supported Integrated Food System and Resilience Project implemented by Chabash Development and Health Initiative (CDHI) in Jakusko LGA, Yobe State.

Working under the supervision of the Project Infrastructure/Structural Engineer and Project Lead, the Assistant oversees labor groups engaged in community asset creation, including land preparation, solar irrigation setup, water harvesting structures, warehouse site clearance, and facility rehabilitation. The position ensures accurate attendance tracking, adherence to site safety standards, and timely compliance with WFP cash disbursement protocols.

Key Responsibilities Community Mobilization & Labor Organization: Assist in mobilizing, registering, and organizing target Cash-for-Work (CfW) beneficiaries into working groups across project communities in Jakusko LGA. Asset Site Supervision: Provide daily field-level supervision for community labor engaged in asset creation and infrastructure works, ensuring tasks are carried out safely and according to specified technical plans.

Attendance Tracking & Verification: Maintain accurate, transparent daily attendance sheets, labor logs, and digital verification records to support timely and accurate cash disbursements to eligible beneficiaries. Site Safety & Equipment Management: Oversee the safe distribution, proper usage, maintenance, and secure storage of tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), and construction materials at field locations.

Support to Vulnerable Groups: Coordinate site adjustments to accommodate vulnerable participants, ensuring appropriate work schedules, light tasks for specific labor profiles, and access to basic site amenities such as shade and clean water. Community Liaison & Incident Reporting: Act as an immediate point of contact between asset creation teams, Project Management Committees (PMCs), and local communities, reporting field challenges, attendance disputes, or safety incidents promptly to project leadership.

Qualifications and Experience Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Social Sciences, Agriculture, Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or a related field. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of practical field experience in Cash-for-Work (CfW), Cash-for-Assets (CfA), or labor-intensive community infrastructure projects, preferably within humanitarian settings in Northeast Nigeria.

Field Competencies: Practical knowledge of community mobilization, basic labor supervision, tool management, and field data collection. Targeting & Protocols: Familiarity with WFP cash transfer procedures, beneficiary registration, and community-based targeting approaches. Language Skills: Professional working proficiency in English and strong fluency in Hausa (knowledge of additional local languages spoken in Yobe State is highly desirable).
