Working with the wider venue team, you will support the operational delivery of events in the venue, including theatre performances, music gigs, and comedy shows - ensuring our customers have the best possible experience in our Front of House spaces. As well as this, you will work closely with the Conference and Events team in the delivery of other venue hires such as conferences, banquets and exhibitions.
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will work as part of the kitchen team, reporting to the Kitchen Manager/Head Chef and the rest of the brigade. The focus of the role will involve all aspects within the kitchen department. You will help support the kitchen team in maintaining the structure and cleanliness in our busy programme of live music, comedy, theatre, conferences, and events. This is a great opportunity to work in the events industry, in a 3500-capacity venue.
Key responsibilities include: Serving food from onsite kiosks on appointed shows/events Basic food preparation Cleaning and washing up Previous experience working in a professional kitchen, catering, or hospitality environment Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen operations Familiarity with food safety, hygiene, and COSHH standards (e.g. Level 1 Food Hygiene certification) Experience working in high-volume or fast-paced service environments (e.g.
events, banqueting, or restaurants) Understanding of stock rotation and storage procedures (FIFO principles) Ability to use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Experience supporting chefs or working as part of a kitchen brigade Confidence working flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and event days Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a busy kitchen Positive attitude with willingness to learn and develop culinary skills Awareness of health & safety standards within a commercial kitchen Experience with cleaning schedules and maintaining high standards of cleanliness If you are a reliable, trustworthy, and enthusiastic about developing your skills.
