We seek a skilled Senior Chef de Partie to join our catering team at Noordhoek, conveniently located near major routes. Why Join Us Quarterly performance bonuses Long service leave Discounts on high-speed ISP packages (after probation) Key Responsibilities Support senior chefs in supervising and developing kitchen team, mentoring junior staff Ensure compliance with food safety standards, policies and procedures Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, taste and hygiene Prepare and cook meals per approved recipes and menu specifications Oversee food production from preparation to final presentation Produce daily meals for residents and healthcare patients, including special dietary requirements Assist with café food and baked goods production Monitor and record food temperatures Collaborate on stock control to minimize wastage Maintain clean, organized, compliant kitchen environment Complete food safety documentation Support efficient kitchen operations and service standards Assist senior kitchen management with daily coordination Qualifications Chef's diploma/qualification from a registered tertiary education provider.
Requirements & Experience Proven experience as Chef de Partie, senior level advantageous Experience guiding, training and mentoring junior kitchen staff High-volume food production experience advantageous Experience with menu specifications, standardized recipes, portion control Experience catering for special dietary requirements advantageous Skills & Knowledge Strong knowledge of food quality management and kitchen standardization Sound knowledge of food handling, sanitation, food safety and hygiene Proficiency in a wide range of cooking and baking techniques Strong understanding of food quality, presentation and portion consistency Ability to maintain high standards across food preparation and service Attributes Strong team player, effective in fast-paced kitchen environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail Reliable, organized, works well under pressure Ability to guide and support junior staff Committed to consistently delivering high-quality food Ability to maintain performance during extended shifts Specific Requirements Clear health record Clear criminal record Clear credit record Written references Working Hours 16.25 shifts per month, 06h30 to 18h30, Monday to Sunday, with flexibility for standby procedures.
Salary Market-related, dependent on experience, qualifications, skills and attributes. Additional earnings for Sunday work (time and a half), public holidays (double time), and quarterly bonuses.
