This role has been advertised by the Kent Local Medical Committee on behalf of the Kent & Medway Primary Care Provider Collaborative. Chief Executive Officer Kent & Medway Primary Care Provider Collaborative (PCPC) Flexible contract with a minimum 3 days per week. Big influence. Real system impact. Salary up to £150k per annum pro rata. Kent & Medway is creating something new a Primary Care Provider Collaborative that will give general practice and the wider primary care family a stronger, more strategic and more unified voice.

You will be the architect of the PCPCs mobilisation, governance and strategic direction, and position primary care as an authoritative, credible partner in the wider system.Main duties of the job You'll bring senior level experience, political acumen and the confidence to operate at Chief Executive level.

You'll understand the pressures and potential of primary care and know how to turn ambition into delivery. You'll connect people, challenge convention and create the conditions for genuine collaboration. Your work will set the tone for the collaboratives future. You'll shape its vision, build its relationships, and lead the development of new models of care that shift activity upstream and closer to communities.

You'll ensure the PCPC is digitally enabled, data driven and equipped to deliver measurable value for practices, partners and the population. You'll be the voice of primary care at scale in system conversations clear, credible and influential. You'll engage widely across practices, federations, regulatory bodies, professional bodies, the ICB and national networks; building momentum and strengthening collective impact.

If you're excited by the opportunity to build on strong existing foundations, bring people and ideas together, and help primary care find a stronger, more influential voice, this is your moment., The Kent & Medway Primary Care Provider Collaborative (PCPC) will launch in 2026 to provide a unified, strategic and influential provider voice for primary care.

The Chief Executive will lead the mobilisation, legal establishment, governance, and strategic positioning of the collaborative during its critical first year. The postholder will also develop and implement a financially sustainable operating model, ensuring the PCPC is able to deliver measurable value, secure appropriate resource, and, over time, operate as a viable and self-sustaining organisation within the Kent & Medway system.

The postholder will build credibility rapidly with senior system partners, strengthen relationships across general practice, GP federations and wider primary care (pharmacy, optometry and dentistry) to ensure the PCPC becomes a respected, high performing collaborative that delivers measurable value, supports system transformation, and improves outcomes for the Kent & Medway population. The successful applicant will have a proven track record of shaping, modelling, and embedding an organisational culture rooted in collaboration, trust, fairness and empathy, ensuring these values are consistently reflected in how the organisation operates.
