Home Child Care Provider – Calgary, Alberta Location: Calgary, Alberta Employment: Permanent, full-time Wage: $21.50 per hour Hours: 39 hours per week Vacancies: 1 Workplace: On site Language: English A private family in Calgary is seeking a caring, responsible and dependable Home Child Care Provider to provide full-time childcare for two young children. Newcomers to Canada and candidates from diverse and underrepresented communities are encouraged to apply.

Schedule Monday–Friday 6:30 AM–9:30 AM 4:45 PM–7:45 PM Saturday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Total: 39 hours per week Occasional schedule adjustments may be required for daycare closures, professional development days, holidays or changes to the children’s schedules. Occasional overnight stays may also be required. Responsibilities Supervise and care for two young children Maintain a safe, nurturing and positive environment Prepare and serve children’s meals, snacks and drinks Assist with feeding, dressing, bathing, diapering, toileting and personal hygiene Follow children’s established daily, nap and bedtime routines Put children to bed during scheduled evening or overnight care Transport/accompany children to and from daycare, preschool, activities and appointments as required Complete daycare/preschool drop-off and pick-up Care for children during daycare closures, professional development days, holidays and other scheduled days off Provide occasional evening and overnight childcare Plan age-appropriate play, reading, crafts, educational activities and outdoor activities Support children’s emotional, social and developmental needs Wash, dry, fold and put away children’s clothing and linens Organize children’s bedrooms, play spaces, toys, clothing and belongings Clean children’s dishes, bottles, cups and eating areas Pack and organize daycare bags, clothing, snacks and supplies Keep children’s areas clean and organized Communicate regularly with parents regarding children’s meals, sleep, activities, routines and well-being Follow established household routines and parental instructions Respond appropriately to minor injuries, illness and other childcare needs This is specifically a child-focused position.
Cleaning, laundry, food preparation and organization responsibilities relate specifically to the children. General household housekeeping unrelated to the children is not a primary duty. Requirements Secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent Previous childcare experience is an asset Experience caring for infants and/or toddlers is an asset Ability to safely and independently care for two young children Ability to prepare age-appropriate meals and snacks Strong English communication skills Ability to follow established schedules and parental instructions Dependable, responsible and patient Ability to work independently in a private household Ability to perform the physical duties associated with caring for young children First Aid/CPR certification is an asset Criminal record/vulnerable sector check may be required References may be requested Canadian citizens, permanent residents and other candidates legally entitled to work in Canada are welcome to apply.
