Join RS&H's Transportation Construction Management team as a Civil Field Engineer / CEI Inspector in the Denver, CO area. As a Civil Field Engineering/CEI Inspector, you will monitor the contractor’s on-site construction activities and inspect materials to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and other contract documents on road and bridge construction projects.
To be successful in this position, you will possess strong communication skills and be a team player who is enthusiastic, motivated, honest, and dependable. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Maintain detailed records of the contractor’s daily operations, including manpower, equipment, construction methods, and events that affect the workMonitor work zone traffic control plan and identify discrepancies and potential issuesMonitor the erosion control plan and identify discrepancies and potential issuesPerform sampling and testing of component materials and completed workVerify the dimensions of prepared and completed workInspect the construction work and conduct field testsTrack/measure completed work quantities for paymentPerform survey checksQualifications:Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related field from an ABET-accredited universityAbility to read and interpret construction plans and specificationsStrong written and verbal communication skillsMust have a Valid Driver's License with a good driving recordMust obtain any required certifications and pass appropriate qualifications tests for the position in the specified time framesAbility to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist, or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods, under various outside conditionsAbility to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasksAbility to use construction or inspection safety equipment, including fall protectionAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and shake up to 20 poundsPreferred Qualifications:Prior internship or related experienceEIT CertificationDOT CertificationsOSHA 10 Certification An Equal Opportunity Employer.
