About the Position The Glatfelter Agency (TGA), a division of Glatfelter Insurance Group, is seeking an experienced Claims Specialist to join our growing team. The successful candidate for this position will: Report, monitor and communicate claims data.
Engage with clients to facilitate proactive role in safety and loss control measures. Monitor, expedite, and advocate TGA standards to the carrier handling the claims. Need to be available outside normal operating hours for escalated claims issues. This position is required to be onsite at our Leader Heights, York, PA office. Key Responsibilities Take first report of loss, as received from customer, or referred by Account Executive or Account Manager.
Immediately forwards all claims reports to the applicable Insurance Carrier(s). Resolves questionable coverage issues in collaboration with the Account Executive. Confirms carrier has set up claim, assigned adjustor and communicate this information to the client. Monitors the status of open claims, including pending payments, loss reserves and any outstanding issues that may hinder the settlement of the claim.
Maintains and documents accurate client records in agency management system. Advocates on client's behalf as needs arise (i.e. claims handling issues, speeding up resolutions, explaining settlement difference). Confirms subrogation has occurred and client's loss history has been updated by carrier. Provides Account Executives with monthly open claim reports and calling attention to any loss trends that may require Account Executive and/or carrier intervention.
Preparation of loss summary to include premiums, losses and loss ratios upon request. Connects clients with agency and carrier resources to assist with Safety Committee setup and structure. Attend carrier loss control visits, client safety committee meetings and post loss inspections as necessary. Provides risk management guides and resources to clients as needed. What We're Looking For College graduate or combination of education and relevant experience.
Licensed Pennsylvania Property/Casualty Agent. Associate in Claims (AIC) designation or ability to obtain within two years. Two years prior claims management experience or related activity preferred. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Word. Must speak clearly and exhibit the ability to reason and communicate complex information to others. Must have a strong internal structure and be able to manage multiple priorities.
Must have good process and decision-making skills. Use analytical ability, independent judgment, and discretion as situationally appropriate. Able to prioritize job functions appropriately.
