As part of the Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services, the Digital Health division provides quality information to health professionals, the public, researchers, and health system decision makers. Through collaboration with the health system, we support the development of data and technical standards,?maintain?key health databases, carry out analytics and evaluation, and support health research.

We support healthcare within Newfoundland and Labrador, including patients and communities,?through the delivery of information technology (IT) and digital health services applied?in?the healthcare system to provide quality care. Our mandate includes the development and implementation of a confidential and secure provincial electronic health record as well as other provincial clinical information programs, including the change management required to support adoption by end user clinicians.

Following the successful provincial go-live of the Health Information System (HIS) powered by Epic, NL Health Services is transitioning to a sustained operational model focused on stabilizing,?maintaining, and continuously improving the system. This next phase?builds on?the foundation?established?during implementation and shifts the focus to supporting day-to-day operations, ensuring system reliability, and enabling ongoing enhancement in support of clinical and business needs.

In the operational state, Digital Health teams play a key role in maintaining, supporting, and continuously improving the HIS. This includes collaborating with clinical, operational, and technical partners to address emerging needs, resolve issues, support quality improvement initiatives, and identify opportunities to optimize workflows, user experience, and patient outcomes. To support this transition, NLHS continues to build and strengthen its Digital Health workforce across clinical informatics, information technology, analytics, and change enablement.

These roles are essential to sustaining system performance, advancing continuous improvement efforts, and ensuring the HIS evolves in alignment with organizational priorities and provincial healthcare needs. About the Role Reporting to the relevant Manager, the Clinical Pharmacist IIA Oncology (Clinical Informatics Analyst) supports the ongoing maintenance, support, optimization, and enhancement of digital health systems and clinical applications used across front-line operational and program environments.

The role applies pharmaceutical and oncology knowledge to support requirements analysis, workflow documentation, system support, issue resolution, testing, data analysis, process improvement, service coordination, and operational support activities. The Clinical Pharmacist IIA Oncology (Clinical Informatics Analyst)works at the intersection of clinical practice, workflows, data, and technology. The role helps translate program and operational needs into clear requirements, workflow documentation, practical system solutions, and actionable insights that support decision-making, operational effectiveness, safe care delivery, and quality patient outcomes.
