As a Clinical Practice Educator, you'll be an expert practitioner and role model, supporting staff across all stages of their professional development. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our workforce is equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver safe, evidence-based care to critically ill children and their families. If you're passionate about supporting colleagues to learn, grow and reach their potential, whilst maintaining your own clinical expertise in a specialist critical care environment, we'd love to hear from you.There is opportunity to complete Post Graduate Certificate in Education Post holders will be expected to work a minimum of 23hrs per week across days, nights and weekend shifts.Main duties of the job Your Education Responsibilities Working alongside the PCCU Education Team, you'll: Facilitate learning and development within the clinical environment.

Support learners and newly developing staff through all stages of their professional journey. Identify training and development needs across the service. Develop, review and update educational resources and learning materials. Deliver and support specialist education programmes within Paediatric Critical Care and the wider Directorate. Promote evidence-based practice and contribute to a positive learning culture.

Support workforce development initiatives that enhance patient safety and patient experience. Your Clinical Responsibilities Alongside your education role, you'll remain embedded within the Band 6 clinical workforce, where you'll: Provide clinical leadership and expert care for critically ill children. Deliver high-quality, individualised, family-centred care. Lead and support nursing teams during shifts.

Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Uphold and promote the PCCU Nursing Philosophy of Care. Support the day-to-day management of the unit in the absence of a Senior Sister/Charge Nurse. Act as a professional role model and mentor to colleagues. The successful candidate will be able to work well within the team and be willing to work a mixed shift pattern including days and nights across the whole week.

They will have experience of and enthusiasm for teaching and supporting staff development through a variety of methods. They will have significant post registration experience with a relevant course for Paediatric Critical Care, and experience / evidence of competency working as a Band 6 within Paediatric Critical Care. They will be a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent clinical and communication skills, with an ability to lead and motivate others., RSCN (Child)/RN (Adult) NMC Registered Recognised Paediatric Critical Care Course Recognised qualification in Teaching and assessing/ENB 998/ associate mentorship course or equivalent.

Practice assessor/supervisor training/practice educator Degree level study or working towards a degree, Qualifications and/or evidence of study at Level 7, with additional qualifications such as a PG Cert in Clinical Education or equivalent considered advantageous, Significant clinical practice experience within a Paediatric Critical Care setting delivering L2/L3 care. Experience / evidence of competence working as a Band 6 in a L3 Paediatric Critical Care unit.
