QUALITY ENGINEERING CO-OPThis co-op position is for a student majoring in Operations, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial and Systems Engineering with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. A co-op in this position will work primarily in the Quality Department.Job Responsibilities Participate in the development and implementation of projects aimed at improving customer satisfaction, quality systems, and operational efficiencyMonitor, analyze, and report customer and supplier quality metricsParticipate on product launch teams to complete requirements for quality engineering, including product scorecards, control plans, PFMEAs, and process flowsManage assigned customer requirementsContribute and participate in ISO9000/IATF16949 compliance and auditingComplete Gage R&R and Capabilities studies using statistical toolsDevelop quality corrective actions as assignedConduct competitive baseline analysis for warranty performanceConduct warranty trend analysis (specific product failure analysis of warranty returns)Manage the warranty critical failure mode processInvestigate and contribute to the resolution of customer or supplier issues(potential for travel as required)Support merger and acquisition processesAssist with process improvement projects, including use of six sigma tools and lean and project management skills as requiredSupport supplier improvement projects, including VDA audits and supplier evaluationsServe as a liaison for Plant Quality, Supplier Quality, Operations personnel, Engineering, and other functional disciplines Currently attending an accredited college or university3.0 cumulative GPA or higherResourceful – not intimidated by substantial assignmentsELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTSSelf motivated and able to learn new • Enthusiastic work approach assignments quickly • Knowledge of statistical tools preferredAbility to multi-task and work in a • Proficient in Microsoft® Office Tools: Word, Excel, fast-paced, team-focused environment PowerPoint, and Access/QueryGENERAL INFORMATIONHours and Location: 40-hour work week on-site in Avon, Ohio Pay Rate: $19 - $26/hour (contingent upon credit hours) (20 miles west of Cleveland) or Huntington, IndianaBecome part of our team!
