Salary details: Unremunerated (reasonable expenses reimbursed) Hours per week: 0 Advert closes midnight on: 29 Sep 2026 Co-opted Member - Investment Committee, The University of Leicester is seeking to appoint co-opted members to join its Investments Committee. For 100 years, the University of Leicester has been changing the world through world-leading research and research-inspired education.

As we look towards our second century, we are seeking an experienced investment professional to join our Investment Committee as a co-opted member. The Investment Committee plays an important role in overseeing the University's endowed funds and investments, monitoring investment strategy, allocations and performance, and reports to the University's Finance and Infrastructure Committee. Previous experience of serving on an investment committee, advisory board or equivalent body would be advantageous.

We are particularly interested in individuals with substantial practical experience of investment management, including listed equities and private equity, together with strong commercial awareness of UK and global investment markets. As a co-opted member, you will bring independent judgement, constructive challenge and specialist insight, helping to support the effective stewardship of the University's investments and long-term financial sustainability.

As a co opted member, you will: Contribute directly to the effective governance of the University Work alongside experienced lay and internal members of Council Help uphold the highest standards of integrity, accountability and assurance Practical details Time commitment: Up to 4 full days per year Meetings: Typically four meetings per year Location: Hybrid (meetings held in Leicester with remote attendance available) Remuneration: Unremunerated (reasonable expenses reimbursed) Significant knowledge, understanding and front-line experience of investment management, in listed equities and private equity; Commercial awareness and acumen in relation to UK and global equity markets; Knowledge and understanding of the UK Higher Education Sector (desirable); Awareness of philanthropic fundraising (desirable).
