This role sits within HITT's Industrial group, which delivers new construction, renovations, expansions, and fit-outs across distribution centers, warehouses, manufacturing, aviation, automotive, mission critical, advanced manufacturing, central utility plants, and other complex industrial facilities nationwide. This position supports a newly awarded industrial campus in Hurt, VA. The Assistant Superintendent understands and administers the HITT safety program to include all subcontractors, ensures that all accidents/incidents are promptly reported and investigated, and assists in safety inspection by outside agencies.

The Assistant Superintendent assists in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the building aspects of each project in order to meet budget, quality, time, and safety objectives.Project OverviewNewly secured project in southern Virginia supporting a growing industrial market in the regionLarge-scale, long-duration build (100+ weeks) with an established site team structure, including multiple superintendents, assistant superintendents, project managers, and APMsSite setup and mobilization underway now, with groundbreaking next monthBacked by HITT's broader Industrial platform, which collaborates with project stakeholders to develop focused action plans that bring complex projects online as fast and safely as possibleGrowth opportunity within HITT's Industrial group, which also covers advanced manufacturing, mission critical, energy, power generation, and heavy civil workOut-of-town assignment with per diem support for the duration of the projectResponsibilitiesWork with the project manager in formulating the project schedule, ensure that the proper methods and sequence of installation are followed, and make and follow through with schedule commitmentsMaintain HITT quality standards for all aspects of the projectMaintain good working relationships with all subcontractors on the project, develop relationships within the community that enhance business opportunities, and ensure subcontractors are treated fairlyEnsure complete, accurate daily documentation of work orders/tickets, understand subcontractor scope of work to avoid unnecessary change orders, and identify problems early and act immediately to provide solutionsDevelop and organize the site team, arrange for temporary facilities/utilities for the site, and identify long lead items that need to be expeditedQualificationsHigh school diploma required; four-year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business is strongly preferred2-5 years' experience in commercial or industrial construction, including experience with a commercial general contractorTenant renovations, service work, work in occupied spaces, weekend work, fast paced project experience all a plusProject lead experience a plusAbility to master sector/project-specific software systems including but not limited to: Microsoft Office suite (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), ProCore, Primavera P6, Adobe, BlueBeamOSHA 30 Certification preferredAbility to walk and/or stand for long periods of time and the ability to lift up to 50 lbsWillingness to work out of town for the duration of the assignment, with
