The post-holder will be accountable to the Clinical Director for Specialist Ambulatory Services, and responsible to the dermatology Service Leads, Clinical Lead for general dermatology, Clinical Lead for medical dermatology, Clinical Lead for skin cancer services and Team Lead for the Immunobullous Service., To work in and support the Specialist Immunobullous service. To work in and support the Specialist Lupus service.

To participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care., To work in and support the Specialist Immunobullous service. To take an active part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training. Duties and responsibilities: Clinical roles: The postholder will, together with consultant colleagues, be responsible for the provision of dermatology services to the Guys & St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust to include: Immunobullous services (including clinic, MDT, advice and guidance, dermatology day care unit, infusion suite) Lupus services Adult general services Adult secondary care skin cancer services Inpatient medical dermatology patients (including ward rounds) Take part in Dermatology Consultant on call rota Advise on the diagnosis and treatment of patients of the Trust in such hospitals, health centres or clinics or other premises as required.
Continuing clinical responsibility for the patients in your charge, allowing for all proper delegation to, and training of, your staff. Regular meetings: Weekly Immunobullous MDT Weekly local skin cancer MDT Dermatology Grand Round Monthly Medical Advisory Committee Eligible for full UK GMC registration and a Licence to Practise. MRCP On GMC Specialist Register or within six months of attaining CCT Clinical Experience, Comprehensive clinical experience in Dermatology Experience at post-CCT level working in tertiary medical dermatology services.
Broad based professional training in general medicine., Ability to work as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team. Good organisation and communication skills. Understanding the principles of clinical governance and its implications., Extensive clinical experience in the diagnosis and management of complex skin conditions., Evidence of a depth of understanding of audit Understanding of principles of audit.
Evidence of understanding of the role of clinical management. Evidence of understanding of and adherence to the principles of Good Medical Practice set out by the General Medical Council. Evidence of contribution to effective clinical audit and clinical risk management., Management training or qualification. Evidence of leadership in the development of clinical services, notably community dermatology services.
Experience in clinical guideline development. Appraisal training., Ability to communicate with clarity and intelligently in written and spoken English; ability to build rapport, listen, persuade/ negotiate. Ability to take responsibility, lead, make decisions and exert appropriate authority. Empathy, understanding, listening skills, patience and ability to work co-operatively with others. Able to change and adapt, respond to changing circumstances and to cope with setbacks or pressure.
Ability to work as part of a team Experience of performance management, developing and motivating staff., Relevant departmental management/leadership experience at consultant level (e.g. service / specialty lead). Management/leadership experience at Regional or National level. Leadership/management skills, Ability to communicate with clarity and intelligently in written an
