Consultation Liaison Psychiatry Faculty Physician

Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Consultation-Liaison Psychiatrist, you will help hospitalized patients at St. Joseph Hospital Medical Center ("SJHMC")  receive comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and management so they can improve their mental health outcomes and support their overall medical recovery. St. Joseph Hospital Medical Center is the oldest ACS-verified Level I trauma center in central Phoenix.

Our team’s focus is driven around being leaders in education, centered on evidence based medicine while ensuring consistent collaboration and communications within the team. In this role, you will deliver critical consultation-liaison psychiatric services across diverse inpatient settings. You will be expected to cover the emergency department, intensive care unit, medical-psychiatric unit, and collaborate with specialists at the Barrow Neurological Institute to manage complex neuropsychiatric illnesses.

To be successful in this role, you must be a board certified or board eligible Psychiatrist with expertise in consultation-liaison psychiatry, a commitment to evidence based medicine, and strong collaborative communication skills for multi-disciplinary care. Provide consultation-liaison psychiatric services to a broad variety of patients at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center (SJHMC) Coverage includes emergency department, intensive care unit, medical-psychiatric unit, and neurorehabilitation patients.

SJHMC is home to the Barrow Neurological Institute, an internationally recognized center for neurosurgery and neurology, providing extensive opportunity for care of patients with complex neuropsychiatric illness 5 days/week inpatient general hospital coverage with rounding one weekend per month (weekdays exchanged for weekend coverage) Academic appointment at the Creighton University School of Medicine commensurate with experience   We are offering a competitive compensation package, sign-on bonus, full benefits, CME allowance, malpractice, and relocation assistance (for eligible candidates).
