Consumer Loan Funding Specialist
WEOKIE Federal Credit Union
Job at a glance
BASIC FUNCTION The Consumer Loan Funding Specialist is responsible for funding consumer loans accurately, efficiently, and compliantly across both the Direct/Centralized Lending channel and the Indirect dealership channel. This position manages loans from approval through funding, performs final review and post-funding audit of loan documentation, communicates directly with members and dealership partners, and adjusts priorities between channels based on business need, staffing levels, and loan volume.
This position is regularly scheduled Tuesday through Saturday in order to extend WEOKIE's consumer lending capability into Saturday, when member and dealership demand is highest. Communicates clearly with members regarding required documentation, conditions, funding steps, timelines, and loan status.
Indirect Lending Funding Performs close inspection of all documents received in the indirect loan document package for quality assurance and to ensure full compliance with program requirements. Reviews dealership-submitted loan packages for completeness, accuracy, and regulatory compliance, including title and lien perfection, insurance verification, and GAP or extended warranty documentation. Oversees the daily ACH process to ensure reserves and loan proceeds are funded to the correct dealership account on the day the loan is booked.
Opens share accounts for applicants who become member-owners as a result of an accepted indirect loan application. Communicates with dealerships regarding missing documents, title issues, funding exceptions, and contract corrections, and follows up consistently until timely correction is obtained. Maintains accurate and current records of each loan disbursement transaction. Maintains positive working relationships with the indirect dealership network while keeping the best interests of the credit union and the member-owner at the forefront.
Cross-Channel and General Completes daily auditing of funded loans to confirm that compliance and procedural requirements are met. Ensures proper policies, procedures, risk mitigation activities, and operating controls are followed, and reports gaps in policies, procedures, and operating controls to leadership so that member impact and risk are mitigated.
