We are looking for a Cook 1 to join our catering kitchen team and grow with us.

The Role The Cook 1 is an important member of our culinary team, supporting daily food preparation and production for WINNER Catering under the direction of our Executive Sous Chef and culinary leadership. This is a great opportunity for a cook who wants to build strong culinary fundamentals, gain experience in high-quality catering production, and continue developing toward greater independence and responsibility.

You’ll work with a team to prepare ingredients, execute recipes, cook menu components, organize production, and help ensure that every catering order is prepared to WINNER standards. We’re looking for someone who is hardworking, dependable, detail-oriented, eager to learn, and proud of keeping their kitchen clean and organized. What You’ll Do Prepare ingredients according to recipes, prep lists, production plans, and chef direction.

Complete daily mise en place, including washing, peeling, cutting, portioning, weighing, and other preparation. Execute basic cooking techniques and prepare proteins, vegetables, grains, sauces, stocks, and other menu components. Follow recipes, specifications, cooking times, temperatures, and quality standards consistently. Support large-volume and batch production for catering orders and events.

Portion, plate, package, label, and stage food for catering service and transportation. Keep workstations clean, organized, stocked, and ready for production. Properly label, date, store, and rotate ingredients using FIFO practices. Support catering event preparation, setup, breakdown, and kitchen closeout as needed. Communicate clearly with chefs and teammates about production progress, timing, product quality, missing ingredients, or other concerns.

Follow all food safety, sanitation, allergen, and workplace safety procedures. Take care of kitchen tools and equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly. Participate in training and continue developing knife skills, cooking techniques, recipes, and catering production knowledge. Take on additional responsibilities as your skills and experience develop, with the goal of progressing toward Cook 2.

What We’re Looking For Previous professional kitchen, restaurant, catering, or food production experience preferred. Basic food preparation and cooking skills. Ability to follow recipes and written and verbal direction. Strong attention to detail and organization. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. A positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to receive coaching and feedback.

Strong commitment to cleanliness, food safety, and quality. Food Handler certification preferred where applicable. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation. Why WINNER?
