The Service have 3 permanent Crew Manager Training Academy - Training Delivery Instructor posts that we are accepting expressions of interest for: There will be an expectation for the appointed individual to remain in any permanent role for a minimum of 12 months, unless a promotion is obtained. This position is aligned to the day duty system (DDS) and will attract a 12% training allowance, payable following a period of development in post.

Successful applicant(s) will be given an extensive training and development investment by DSFRS. Initially through attending an internal fire lighting qualification. Followed by attending external courses to gain qualifications in Breathing Apparatus Instructor (BAI), Compartment Fire Behaviour Training Instructor (CFBTI) and Adult Education Teaching (AET) as well as other opportunities. About the Crew Manager Training Delivery Instructor role: The post will be focused primarily on Breathing Apparatus and to support Maritime training delivery.

Where required there will be the need to support training delivery at Severn Park and other locations across the Service. The role will require you to develop and maintain, through continuous professional development (CPD), your ability to deliver. You will be expected to support Academy Watch Managers to ensure training materials are current and compliant with National Operational Guidance. You will need to communicate effectively with people at all levels, both orally and in writing, including preparing reports and evaluations, giving presentations and leading training sessions.

Key responsibilities of our Crew Manager will include: Creating an environment where everyone feels safe to learn by promoting the values and the code of ethics. Acquire and maintain the ability to deliver on all courses across the Academy. Implement effective training and development activities. Be highly motivated, self-driven and able to work with minimal supervision. Be willing to work flexibly to meet the commitments of the Training Academy.

Perform other duties appropriate to the post and within the context of the National Occupational Standard Role Map for a Crew Manager., Expressions of interest are invited from suitably experienced and qualified Firefighters and Crew Managers. Eligible applicants will need to meet the following criteria as a minimum: Be a competent, substantive Firefighter and been successful in the Crew Manager promotion board or be a substantive wholetime Crew Manager.

ITOP or Qualified L1 ICS Not subject to formal performance improvement actions, nor have any live disciplinary sanctions, Fire and Rescue Authority roles are listed in Schedule 1 of the Rehabilitation of Offenders act 1974 (Exceptions) Order and as such it is our policy to require all applicants to disclose any criminal convictions (both spent and unspent) including driving offences, cautions and/or reprimands.
