Location: Boston, Massachusetts Facility: Acute Care / Teaching Hospital Start Date: November 11, 2026 Assignment Duration: 26 weeks Positions: 1 Setting: ICU EMR: Epic 🌟 Opportunity Overview A prestigious teaching hospital in Boston, MA is seeking an experienced Critical Care APP for a locum tenens opportunity focused primarily on weekend and night coverage . This is an excellent opportunity for a local APP looking for flexible ICU coverage in a collaborative academic environment.

The APP will work alongside attendings and fellows while providing essential clinical support in a 10-bed adult ICU. 📅 Schedule Day Shift: 6:00 AM–7:00 PM Night Shift: 6:00 PM–7:00 AM Primarily weekend and night coverage Friday night counts as a weekend shift Preferred: approximately 4 weekend shifts/month Minimum: 2 weekend shifts/month Providers do not need to work 3 consecutive 13-hour shifts every weekend Local candidates strongly preferred No travel provided 🏥 Clinical Details Adult ICU 10 ICU beds Average daily census: approximately 7 patients Bread-and-butter ICU and medical-surgical cases Approximately 1–2 burn patients Typical responsibilities include: Rounding with the attending in the morning Completing clinical tasks Afternoon rounds Responding to clinical needs in the unit APPs function primarily as responding clinicians No procedures required Procedures/Conditions Not Required No intubations No central lines No ventilator management No transplant cases No ECHO No complex neuro cases No EVD No complex neuro-stroke cases 👥 Team & Support 4 APPs on staff Day shift supervised by an MD Night shift supervised by a fellow/attending Collaborative teaching-hospital environment Some degree of clinical independence is encouraged ✅ Requirements Acute Care certification Strong ICU experience Minimum 2+ years of critical care experience ACLS required BLS required DEA required Massachusetts license required for NPs NPs needing a new MA license will not be considered PAs may be considered with willingness to obtain MA licensure PA licensure process typically takes approximately 3–5 weeks Credentialing timeframe: approximately 90 days 🚇 Ideal Candidate This opportunity is especially well suited for a local Boston-area Critical Care APP who wants consistent weekend/night ICU coverage without a travel commitment.
