Shrewsbury College is Shropshire's largest college, teaching 16-18-year-olds and adults at three campuses in the town of Shrewsbury. We deliver a broad range of vocational and higher-level courses to 2500 16-18-year-olds, 4000 adult students, 300 HE students and 950 apprentices at our London Road campus. 2100 A Level students are taught at our Welsh and English Bridge campuses in the centre of Shrewsbury.

The college was inspected in March 2025 and judged to be 'Outstanding', with a 'Strong' contribution to skills. The college was recognised as a top 10 employer by The Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2026 and enjoys 'outstanding' financial health. We have enrolled a record number of students in 2026-27, and have secured £10m of government funding to support new capital projects to expand our construction and science facilities.

Salary: £63,762 - £66,145 p.a. 1.0 FTE. Full year. Permanent. London Road campus. We are recruiting a Curriculum Director to join the college's Senior Curriculum Group and to manage around a quarter of the college's technical and vocational courses.

The person appointed will be responsible for a portfolio of courses including extended diplomas, technical qualifications and T-Levels for 16-18 year olds; adult education courses; and higher education courses. The portfolio will be determined post-appointment to take account of the experience and knowledge of the successful candidate. The postholder will be required to teach up to 6 hours per week.

We are looking for candidates with a background in teaching and management in one or more of the following curriculum areas: Business, Catering and Hospitality, Early Years, Hair and Beauty, Health and Social Care, IT and Digital, Media, Music Technology, Performing Arts, and Travel and Tourism.
