Typical evening call time is around 4:00pm to allow for prep and setup before service, with closing duties following service. Flexible Monday–Friday availability is required. Some shifts may take place outside of regular business hours for private events, corporate receptions, daytime functions, buyouts, prep, and special events. While schedules are based on business needs, we are a small team and make every effort to provide team members with a consistent, predictable schedule whenever possible.
Because we operate with a small staff, reliability and punctuality are essential to this position . Each scheduled team member plays an important role in keeping service running smoothly, and consistent attendance helps us maintain manageable workloads and a positive working environment for the entire team. Located on the 11th floor near Grand Central, Highball focuses on classic cocktails, thoughtful food, and elevated but approachable hospitality in a space inspired by the golden age of train travel. The Role We’re looking for a reliable and hardworking Dishwasher to join our back-of-house team. This role is responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient dish area, washing and polishing glassware, and supporting both the culinary and service teams throughout the shift.
The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, efficient, and able to maintain a strong sense of urgency during busy service periods. This person should also understand the importance of sanitation, cleanliness, and following proper food-safety procedures at all times. Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred, but a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and reliability are most important.
