As a domestic assistant, your role will be fundamental to the presentation and environmental hygiene standards of our homes. This is working in the home covering a range of domestic duties including household cleaning, cleaning kitchen areas and washing up. Other domestic duties within a residential establishment: To undertake cleaning as requested, including cleaning of vacated rooms /bedsits /spring cleaning To undertake laundry duties Operate powered equipment including laundry machines and vacuum cleaners Occasionally oversee residents in carrying out domestic duties as part of their rehabilitation Basic food preparation/storage You will be required to have an understanding/experience of undertaking domestic laundry duties and tasks and an understanding of the safe and effective use of cleaning equipment and cleaning materials.
You will have a basic understanding of the Health and Safety issues in relation to cleaning process and the general safety of colleagues and residents. Part of the duties is to collect laundry, launder, and return to residents' rooms, so an understanding of dignity and understanding is a key part of the role.
