We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and proactive Design & Technology Technician to support our busy and successful DT department. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in helping students develop practical skills and bring creative ideas to life in a safe and engaging learning environment. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to prepare materials, maintain equipment, and support the delivery of a broad range of Design & Technology lessons.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and organise materials, tools, and equipment for practical lessons. Maintain workshops, classrooms, and storage areas to a high standard. Support teaching staff during practical activities where required. Carry out routine maintenance and safety checks on machinery, tools, and equipment. Monitor and manage stock levels, placing orders as required. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and departmental policies.
Assist with displays, exhibitions, and extracurricular activities within the department. We are looking for someone who: Has practical skills and experience working with tools, machinery, or workshop environments. Is highly organised with strong attention to detail. Understands the importance of health and safety procedures. Can work independently and as part of a team. Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Is flexible, reliable, and committed to supporting student learning. Previous experience in a school environment or a technical/workshop setting would be advantageous, but training will be provided for the right candidate. A supportive and welcoming team environment.
