The Electronic Security Service Technician installs, services, troubleshoots, and maintains electronic security systems including video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, alarms, and related lowvoltage equipment.
This role ensures systems operate reliably, meet customer requirements, and comply with industry standardsResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and test CCTV/IP camera systems, NVRs/VMS platforms, and networked security devicesInstall and service access control systems (card readers, door hardware, controllers, biometrics)Diagnose and repair intrusion alarm systems, sensors, panels, and communication modulesPerform preventive maintenance, system inspections, and firmware/software updatesRun, terminate, and label lowvoltage cabling (Cat5/6, coax, fiber)Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematicsProvide onsite and remote technical support to customers and internal teamsDocument service activities, parts used, and system configurationsEnsure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and local regulationsCollaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to resolve complex issuesQualificationsExperience with electronic security systems (video, access, intrusion)Strong understanding of IP networking, switches, PoE, and basic routingAbility to use diagnostic tools (multimeter, cable tester, laptopbased utilities)Knowledge of lowvoltage wiring standards and installation best practicesStrong problemsolving and customerservice skillsAbility to work independently in the fieldValid driver’s license; ability to lift equipment and work on laddersPI287030947
