Position Overview: The Emulation Hardware Support Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering emulation hardware support projects across engineering, IT, facilities, and vendor teams. This role ensures emulation platforms are deployed, maintained, upgraded, and supported on schedule, within scope, and with minimal disruption to engineering users. The ideal candidate combines strong project management skills with hands-on understanding of hardware labs, data center operations, overall Technology and Infrastructure knowledge, and semiconductor emulation environments.
Key Responsibilities: Project & Program Management Own end-to-end project execution for emulation hardware deployments, upgrades, migrations, and decommissions Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, and risk registers Coordinate cross-functional teams including Emulation, IT, Facilities, Network, Security, and Vendors Track dependencies, manage change requests, and communicate project status to stakeholders Emulation Hardware & Lab Support Manage support activities for emulation platforms (e.g., Strato product family, Primo-CS product family, ProFPGA-CS product family) Coordinate hardware installs, rack/stack, power, cooling, cabling, and network connectivity Oversee hardware break/fix, RMA processes, and vendor escalations Ensure lab readiness, access control, and compliance with safety and security requirements Infrastructure & Operations Partner with IT teams on OS provisioning, firmware updates, storage, and network integration Support data center and lab migrations (on-prem, colocation, or hybrid environments) Ensure systems meet performance, availability, and reliability expectations Drive standardization and documentation of emulation infrastructure processes Stakeholder & Vendor Management Act as the primary point of contact for emulation hardware support projects Manage relationships with EDA vendors and hardware suppliers Lead regular syncs, issue reviews, and post-mortems Communicate clearly with engineering leadership and end users Process Improvement & Reporting Define KPIs for project delivery, system availability, and support responsiveness Identify gaps and drive continuous improvement initiatives Maintain accurate documentation, runbooks, and asset tracking Qualifications: Education: BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Equivalent experience: 10+ years in hardware operations/Project roles. PMP or Agile certification or Equivalent experience 5+ years of project management experience in hardware, infrastructure, or lab environments Strong understanding of data center or lab operations (power, cooling, rack/stack, networking) Experience managing cross-functional technical teams Technical Skills: Basic/Mid-level Linux administration Global compliance standards (ISO 27001, SOC 2) Hands-on exposure to semiconductor emulation or large-scale hardware platforms Expertise in FPGA-based emulation systems Leadership Competencies: Crisis Management: Demonstrated ability to lead teams during high-pressure outages (e.g., resolving multi-rack failures under SLA deadlines).
