The post holder will assume responsibility for the day to day delivery of Endoscopes/Cystoscopes/ureteroscopes in a timely fashion to the procedure rooms complying with the current guidelines.The main elements of the role will be to ensure that Decontamination services are delivered to the required standards as set out in HTM 01-06. The post requires good communication skills and the ability to multitask to deliver the service that is required.

The post holder will also be required to carry out non- decontamination general duties within the Department on a rotational basis., To receive, inspect, dismantle, clean, disinfect and distribute medical devices, checking quality at each stage.To handle all Endoscopes/Cystoscopes/Ureteroscopes within the department using aseptic techniqueTo operate automated endoscope washers & dryers, and any other machinery.To ensure raw material stock is rotated and that 'out of date' stock is not used.To assist in periodic stock checks within the directorateTo ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with departmental procedures and Health & Safety legislation and ensuring that any faults or defects are reported immediately to a Supervisor or Manager.To ensure the work area is kept clean, tidy and free from obstruction.To complete all paperwork neatly and legibly.To input production data and use the departmental computer systems, including the endoscope tracking system.Ensure that all customers are dealt with in a professional and helpful manner.Maintain and develop the department's image and reputation.To participate in training, development and appraisal activities.To adhere to Quality Management System accredited to BS.EN.ISO 9001:2000.JE0336To work in accordance with HTM 0106 guidelines for decontamination of flexible endoscopes.To work flexibly in response to changes in and the development of services.To promote a safe working environment.To work at any of the Trust's or customer's sites.To carry out any other duties commensurate with the grade., To receive, inspect, dismantle, clean, disinfect and distribute medical devices, checking quality at each stage.To handle all Endoscopes/Cystoscopes/Ureteroscopes within the department using aseptic techniqueTo operate automated endoscope washers & dryers, and any other machinery.To ensure raw material stock is rotated and that out of date stock is not used.To assist in periodic stock checks within the directorateTo ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with departmental procedures and Health & Safety legislation and ensuring that any faults or defects are reported immediately to a Supervisor or Manager.To ensure the work area is kept clean, tidy and free from obstruction.To complete all paperwork neatly and legibly.To input production data and use the departmental computer systems, including the endoscope tracking system.Ensure that all customers are dealt with in a professional and helpful manner.Maintain and develop the departments image and reputation.To participate in training, development and appraisal activities.To adhere to Quality Management System accredited to BS.EN.ISO 9001:2000.JE0336To work in accordance with HTM 0106 guidelines for decontamination of flexible endoscopes.To work flexibly in response to changes in and the development of services.To promote a safe working environment.To work at any of the Trusts or customers sites.To carry out any other duties commensurate with the grade.

Evidence of general education e.g. GCSE's or equivalent., Knowledge of decontaminating endoscopes Experience of working in a Sterile Services Department or Endoscopy Decontamination department, Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing. Understanding and following written procedures. Ability to work on own initiative. Ability to develop new skills. Able to work as part of a team.
