The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible to maintain constant communication with ordering offices to ensure no discrepancies exist in the electronic medical record system(s). This position is part of the 1199SEIU Bargaining Unit at Cooley Dickinson Hospital.This position reports to the Director, Perioperative Services and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.Must be able to effectively interact appropriately to an individual's intellectual level and physical ability.: Does this position require Patient Care?
NoEssential FunctionsWork within policy to create new medical records for patients as needed. -Gather data for creation of both paper and electronic chart. -Assist in meeting the needs of the department and the physicians. -Appropriately apply scheduling and block guidelines; allow for meeting times.-Report problems/potential problems to the Manager or Shift Charge Nurse in a timely manner. -Check in patients at front desk in accordance with the electronic medical record workflow.
-Collaborate with management team to solve problems and improve systems. -Answer phones. Prioritize messages and deliver them appropriately. -Prepare routine statistical reports. -Perform all secretarial duties in an accurate/efficient manner including without limitation intra-operating report logging and distribution of OR or Endoscopy schedule and mail daily. -Maintain established hospital and departmental policies and procedures, objectives, confidentiality, quality improvement program, compliance, safety, infection control and environmental standards.
